The activities practiced at TYM are appropriate for anyone—no matter your level of strength or flexibility, age, or if you have a medical condition that might be aggravated by physical activity.
You do as much or as little as you care to. In fact, some men lie on their backs and rest for the entire session. The idea is for you to enjoy the session while taking care of your body.
SAFETY
- IF YOU HAVE AN INFECTIOUS CONDITION, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR HEALTH AND THAT OF OTHERS IN THE CLASS.
- Take responsibility for your body. Practice within your own limits. Pay attention to your body. If your body signals you to stop or pull back during a posture, do so.
- If you have high blood pressure, glaucoma, or a detached retina. Do not hold postures for more than 20 seconds. This is especially true for inverted postures.
- Never force your body into a posture that causes discomfort, distress or pain. You could injure yourself. Never allow an instructor to push you beyond your limits.
- Remember that if someone is doing something to you that you do not approve of, “no” means “no”.
